Steve Round:

That guitar yourr dad's playing is called a Tuxedo. My dad had same guitar.

Michael Mitchinson:

They were made by Dallas and beat the Watkins Rapier to the be first British electric by two weeks.

They were a band called The Cavaliers and the pics were taken in 1957 at Wigan Empress Ballroom. They took over the diary bookings of a band called The Falcon Skiffle Band who had split up and Brain Baxendale played lead guitar but sometimes bass as well.

John Pinsent:

The “Emp” was the top gig back then and your right about your dad being in a skiffle band before starting up his own Rock 'n Roll band called “Brian & The Flyovers”. They played in our front room at your mum and dads wedding. I think your Grandad Pinsent ended up in the shed as in his words, “can’t be doing with all that headache music!"

Your dad had just got a Cherry Red Horner Verythin at that time and was chuffed to bits with it. It was the nearest thing he could afford to Gibson 335 like Chuck Berry.

Ian Martindale:

I remember Brian B playing in Pepper, understated, did his job for the band would have been just the man to fit into a band without trying to steal all the limelight, a rare commodity these days. RIP, fondly remembered. By me for one and I'm sure many others.
