"I started the Pipelines, first called Take Five. They were named after my favourite tune.
We rehearsed in the cellar of the Conservative club on George Street West in Blackburn. I didn't play but got them together. I remember Norman Holton on bass and Phil Singleton on rhythm guitar.
Phil's mum ran the Launderette which we lined with egg crates. Pete Taylor staggered upstairs to audition as drummer. He had a drum kit; he was in! I remember taking the kit to a gig in Great Harwood in my bubble car.
I then went off to college and they went on to better things without my interference. Great Days!
Incidentally, I've seen Pete Eddleston a few times, nice bloke and The Electones were the best. In Take Five days we had a girl singer called Lorna. If anyone has heard of her since.. please let me know."
