Carl left to form The Linden Three. Harry Hindle broke his wrists and was replaced by Roy Shoesmith and later played with Helen Shapiro and Karl Denver whilst Roy Barker joined the Navy.

We came 3rd out of 64 northern groups and were now wearing corduroy pants and velvet tunics
8/9 BURNLEY EXPRESS 16/9/64
Nice story in Burnley Express and now just The Avalons. This was the classic Avalons line-up.
10/11 BURNLEY LOCARNO TALENT COMPETITION November 1964
We were finalist with The Electrons, The Dynamic Flames, The Pagans, and The Raging Storms. From memory we came 2nd.
12/13 PRESTATYN LIDO 8/5/65
According to article in local press we were Decca recording artists and had just returned from a tour of Germany including the Star Club in Hamburg. The writer had a vivid imagination!
